A delicious combination of jazz, art, and wine awaits attendees of FlorenceFest ’19, held on April 26 and 27. The Fest includes tasting opportunities from a dozen wineries, performances from half-a-dozen top-notch jazz musicians, and a juried art show and sale.
The stellar musical line-up includes funk and soul headliners Farnell Newton & The Othership Connection and Soul Vaccination. Other scheduled performers are the blues/funk/rock group Inner Limits, Portland-based jazz ensemble The Flat Nines, Brazilian-jazz with the Kerry Politzer Trio, the Maree Beers Quartet, and local guitarist Sunny Sundstrom.
While sipping wine, attendees can peruse among the more than 50 artworks selected by jurist Karin Clarke. Clarke is the owner of the Karin Clarke Gallery in downtown Eugene, known for showing major contemporary artists of Oregon. Clarke has organized over 200 exhibits and in 2016 she founded the Eugene Biennial regional juried show.
FlorenceFest ’19 takes place at the Florence Events Center from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are available at the Florence Chamber or online. Admission is restricted to adults 21 and over.
