THE HOLLY JOLLY Follies, a beloved tradition in Florence, returns this year with the annual holiday variety show at the Florence Events Center on December 6–8. This will be the fourth year that the Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops (C.R.O.W.) has produced the heartwarming, family-friendly show. Proceeds support scholarships for kids in the arts and C.R.O.W.’s ongoing arts programming. (crowkids.com)
The theme this year is “Finding Joy at Christmastime.” The main show, written by Rose Ellen Jacobson and directed by Melanie Heard, features the Holly Jolly Follies’ beloved elf Sarge and the lovely Joy Merriweather, who discover an unexpected storybook romance while saving Christmas.
But the Follies are also a true variety show with performers of all ages, so besides the main show, this year’s Follies feature vocal solos and duos, musicians, comedic interludes, small and large group numbers, and the stellar Flight Dance Team. “Come support local arts,” says Heard, “and lose yourself in a really sweet story!”
Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.
