An entire weekend infused with jazz is on tap for the South Coast Clambake Jazz Festival, held March 8–10 at the Mill Casino Hotel in North Bend. The Mill serves as four venues in one, with four separate stages that each have their own sound system, dance floor, and bar. Musicians at the Festival hail from all across the United States. And with jazz styles that range from traditional to 50’s rock, swing to doo-wop, big band to Zydeco, there’s sure to be plenty of dancing or easy listening, depending on attendee’s preference.
Featured performers include the Alpha Rhythm Kings, Dave Bennett Quartet, Barn Door Slammers, Good Co., Dave Stuckey and the Hot House Gang, Gator Nation, Gino and Lone Gunmen, Phat Cat Swinger, Lisa Mann, Bay City Swing and the Young Bucs. Besides great music, the festival features several different sessions of swing dance lessons and lesson in the Texas Two-Step. Dance demonstrations on Saturday and a special gospel concert on Sunday round out the weekend’s events. Tickets are $15–$85. 541-267-7665
