Old Town Florence is filled with fun for a three day weekend October 11-13 at the Wine & Chowder Trail and Great Glass Float Giveaway. Visitors can search for and enter to win hidden glass floats around town throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, stroll through Old Town and sample wines from Oregon’s finest wineries. Then Sunday be your own judge and decide what your favorite chowder is from the dozen different samples available throughout Bay Street.
Glass Float Hunt & Chowder Trail participation cards will be available Friday at the Visitors Center (290 Hwy 101) and in Old Town at Gazebo Park Saturday and Sunday. They are $5 each. Glasses and tasting tickets for the Wine Trail will be on sale in Old Town at Gazebo Park Saturday. Glasses are $5 and tickets are $1 each.
This year’s trails and giveaway will share the spotlight with two additional events: the annual Okto-FUR-Fest wiener dog races at the Florence Events Center, and Circles in the Sand, a labyrinth carving on the beach at Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center. Both will be Saturday, October 12.
Okto-Fur-Fest, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Florence Events Center, features German-style food and drink, games, and prizes—and the hilariously exciting wiener dog races from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
